funny dad

Jeff does this with the kids...he holds them up...
makes their legs go back and forth......
then tosses them on the bed (they think they are crickets because he makes the sounds). Its funny to watch (for about 1 minute) but they think it is the greatest. Our favorite activity! Laying in bed watching movies (can you really call that an "activity"?)

Pig Ribs

The other day Em seemed a little down in the dumps so to cheer her up I made her favorite dinner.....Pig Ribs......(her words). It seemed to do the trick, she was thrilled.

Wednesday with Gill

Gilly is completey forbidded to play with Abby's Nintendo. Thats why he sneaks it out and plays it in the car after she goes to school.
Today he had his first school field trip to the library. He is looking very serious after he picked out his tractor book.

a trek to Wal Mart

This is a picture of Gill after he was caught "trying" to go to WalMart on his tractor.
He actually made it farther than he usually does and thats why he looks a bit defeated.

New pants

In anticipation of this cold weather we are having I bought Gill a track suit to keep him warm
Like all his pants, I had to safety pin them in order to keep them from falling to his feet
Unfortunately during preschool the safety pin came undone and he ended up holding up his pants for most of the day. You'd think with all the mini corndogs he eats he'd be able to wear a size 3T without any problem!

when I grow up I want to be.......

Ever since Emily saw John and Monica ride off into the sunset via horse and carriage she has been begging to go for a ride. Well tonight we were at the Gateway (Gilly lost his baby dinosaur that you see in just about every picture of him so we had to make a trek out to Build a Bear) and we happen to see an available carriage. We went for a short jaunt around the shopping center and Em was in her own little corner of heaven (of course I didn't have my camera!) and now she wants to be a horse rider/dentist/fisherman when she grows up.

Flight of the Conchords

Some of you may know that I love Flight of the Conchords but for those of you that don't or have never heard of them I have posted a few snippets from the show. Please enjoy, these are pretty great (I tend to watch them over and over, I guess you could say that I am a little obsessed).

chooch

I love taking pictures of the choocher while he's asleep. I just want to squish on him with love when he's like this!
Gill's dirty, sometimes scabbed, most always eczema afflicted feet. (the flash hid some of the dirt and blackness here, I think its needless to say that I have a hard time getting him to keep his shoes on.)

gotta have a goat

Okay, we caved into the pressure, we bought a goat! Hey, everyone needs a goat right? The story goes like this....My brother (John) has a very large pasture, some that live in Australia call this a paddock (our ode to Jen and Daz, see we are learning). One day he called and said "I think I"m going to get me some goats", and me being the semi-idiot that I am, said "oh, oh! I want one too!" So now we have a goat. The kids have named her nibbles, she is the one that is "nibbling" on Em's shorts. The brown one is Claire, and the other white one by Gill is nameless (if anyone wants to buy a goat you get the naming rights, let me know if your interested). oh the adventure.

All I want for Christmas is.........

So, we decided to hit Red Robin for lunch today. My little brother and his very cute wife came along for an afternoon of good laughs over yummy fries. At RR they have this video game thingy that, if your good enough, you can win great prizes. Whenever I see one of these I think 2 things...
1. Only people with no teeth play these.
2. Don't waste your money, you'll never win!
Well, wouldn't you know it? My brother (who has exceptionally beautiful teeth) won a Nintendo DS on his second try! Abby was open-mouthed in awe, you see, she has wanted one of these for a very long time, and in fact, I was planning on getting her one for Christmas as soon as e-bay had one go up for under $120.00. Good thing I didn't bid because Johnny boy handed that baby right over to Abby and said "have fun". He must have a great older sister who has shown him the ropes. Well after an ethusiatic Abby got home some of her pals came over with their Nintendos to show her the ropes. Its pretty quiet up there.....

an afternoon with the Jones girls

Abby made this microphone from a toilet paper roll, electrical tape and tin foil (thanks for the idea Beth!) and has been a pop star ever since.
I asked Em what in the world was she doing with mittens on her feet, her reply was she was being Curious George.

I've got an itch

This is what happens when you wear a diaper all night.....
Bum itch

Don't take my picture mom

Super cool dudes wear many things....
1. A bat cape
2. Tractor paraphernalia
3. most importantly.....the riding glove
(he loves to wear these like pro motor cross guys, unfortunately they don't sell them in his size)
He was a little ticked that I made him take this picture

this is dedicated to one we love and miss....

Ever since Miss Claire learned of her aunt Jen Jens aversion to grasshoppers she has become quite the collector.
she even named this one "Jen".

the Pirate

Today Gill thought he'd like to swordfight like a pirate.....

Unfortunately the only "sword" we have is kitchen utensils.

5th place

These are all the water bottles that those slobby bike riders just tossed aside. What about saving the environment?
The 5th place winners, not bad for first timers.

Lotoja

I am one supportive wife. Before the race began I placed this sign, unfortunately it was on the wrong road.
Just crossed the finish line!
This is the relay team...from left to right...Preston, Chad Waldron, Jeff, Chad Butler. The fifth place overall finishers!!!
Their sweet a** rides
In the Tour de France, the winners toast with champange, since we are NOT in France and in Jacksons Hole, we toasted with hand made Teton Tiramatsu at this fabulous authentic Italian restaurant Noni. (This was my favorite part!)

Getting ready

As some of you may already know, Jeff is an avid cyclist. The current race going on right now is Lotoja, its a journey that begins in Logan and ends in Jackson Hole Wyoming. It is for one day, covers 3 states, and is 206 miles. Jeff is part of a relay team and his leg of the race is all uphill (the hardest leg). Thanks to my lovely mother (she volunteered to watch the kids) I am able to go up and watch him cross the finish line. I have included a few pictures of Jeff racing, the first is from his days racing with Team Discovery, he even won the yellow jersey. Many of you may not know that (seeing that he is so modest about his victories). Good luck hun!

Angry eyes

As I have been uploading pictures for this blog I have come across some older ones of the kids that make me laugh. This is one of them and from time to time I will add pictures from the past. This is October of 2004 and Jeff did all the artwork.

the weather bug

As some of you may know, one of Jeff's many hobbies is the weather. Anyone withing a ten mile radius of our home can spot the odd looking device atop our shed. This morning Emily felt like it was going to be a cool day and insisted on wearing a long sleeve shirt. Hey, maybe its in the genes because she was correct.

Does my butt look big?

I am in the process of rearranging some things in the house and I propped this mirror up against the chair as I wait for Jeff to help me hang it elsewhere. I come up the stairs to Gilly doing this. Honestly girls, can any of us deny doing the same thing with the one question looming in the recesses of our minds.....Does my butt look big?

First day of school/moms freedom day

Gill wanted some boxers for his first day of school, he only let me take his pic in them because I told him David would see them and would think they were cool.
Here he is on his first day of leaving the nest. Funny, I was only weeping tears of gratitude.
He really likes that Miss Mickey (its really Viki) has a pepsi machine, I just have to make sure we have change every day.
Playing with his mates
About 15 minutes after school was out he was gone, Thank you Miss Mickey.
