So I decided to un-block the ole blog for two reasons....

1. Some of my favorite people had problems getting to it (yes Janet that is you).

2. I am in a blogging depression and I don't know how long I'm going to stick around in the blogging world.

3. Just kidding about #2. Well, sort of.

Happy Birthday Gilly!

I remember going into labor before the family Christmas party not realizing what I was in for with a little boy. What I was in for is this:

Being told I am "Bootiful" every day

Alot of dirt and sand

An education in how cars and tractors work

A love of Dinosaurs

Going fast

How to Wrastle

How to play sport correctly

Snot, alot of snot

Having my door being opened by a now 5 year old gentleman

Tons of laughs and love

I love you Gilly!

Gay Day

Today is Gay Day. What is Gay Day? Its the day when all the gays called in sick to work to protest the states stand on Prop. 8. I think the news actually called it "Work without your Gay Day". Most of you know of my love of the gays and my stand on Prop 8 and since I am not gay and never will be, to support my fellow gays I refused to clean an inch of my house today (I'm actually just feeling lazy since Jeff is out of town).

My question is this: If your gay and still in the closet do you call in sick anyway? Hmmmm......

Thats probably a tough one for a lot of Utahns.

Now you see why I love my blog being private!

$13 a day

Most of you know about the jury trial I have been involved in and the NOT GUILTY verdict that came with it. All I have to say is that my new favorite word is dumb sh*t. Thats what I think this jury consisted of. I don't understand and I'm reeling from the idiocracy of the "system". I was told that 5 guilty people go free for every 1 convicted. That is not right. I am scared for my children and all the innocent people who think this judicial system works. It doesn't. I lost my faith in our system today.

The good side of it all: I got $13 a day. Wow.

Church and the Chooch

Every week starting on Saturday night we get this

Garrett: "Mom, I not feeling so well"

And Sunday mornings are the worst with the whining and stalling that goes on.

And the thing I don't get is that he has the greatest Primary teachers who report that he is happy to be there.

Well this week was no different, the only variable is the mode of sickness.

As I was getting out of the shower he tries to cough....but ends up laughing

I put my game face on and tell him its not going to work today

He fires back saying he has a "hot" (fever)

no way fella

About an hour later as I was walking into the living room I see him walking around the kitchen

With crutches, holding one leg up

that one almost worked just because I was laughing so hard

More Hawaii

Here we go....let me take you into my vacation....This is a picture from the Dole plantation. I just mainly wanted to demonstrate how tropical it is. Plus it just rained (this was the destination prior to my rusty mud fall, see the red mud?) and everything was so green.
This is just left of where I fell. Jeff was snapping photos while I was riding the rust mud slide. Again, tropical paradise.


Dole plantation...can you see the tiny pineapples? Did you know it takes 3 years to grow a pineapple?

This was looking out from the balcony of our room. Wow.

This is the sunset from the hot tub where we ate the much needed onion rings every night. sigh.

The boys playing. It seriously reminded me of two little kids.

This was at the Polynesian Culture Center before John took his lei off. He couldn't tolerate it on his neck.

Jeff and I sipping our Pina Colada at the Luau. I didn't love the pig, too mystery meat-ish. I loved the fruit though.

And lastly, this is the view from our room in the day. I really need to go back, this post is almost painful to me. I can't look anymore.....

my fellow Hawaiian vacationers....

Here is my post of my fellow vacationers......We will start with "Robert". This kid was on the plane on the way over and his voice was so loud and he knew everything there was to know. Like fingernails on a chalkboard Robert was. Go away Robert. Here is the cutest lady I have ever seen. This picture really doesn't show it but she was so tiny and just what I pictured a Japanese grandma to look like. I could have taken her home in my suitcase, literally. She was that small and bent over. Probably had all her kids in the rice patty.

This is Oshi. He was the most helpful when it came to snorkeling. Our captain was a complete fool and I actually felt bad for Oshi and his co-worker. Yes, his hair is in dread locks.


Ahhh...my favorite. The best part of this picture is not the picture itself but the look on Monicas face when I pointed them out. If you can't tell (and if you can't you need to get your eyes checked) that is a g-string speedo. After I was brave enough to get close enough and snap the picture they turned over and the striped speedo started doing his Broadway routine complete with high kicks and jazz hands. I am not joking. And my husband wonders why I love the gays. You don't get better than this folks.

And then there is this: Please do not wear a speedo if you are older than 25. I beg you not to wear a speedo if you are younger than 25 also but especially the older part.

This is me most of the trip....relaxing by the ocean. Reading "the other Boleyn girl, (best book ever). Here is Harv all muscled out. One second Jeff and John are digging a huge hole, they ask us to go get the camera, by the time we return this is what they have constructed.
Awww, this lovely picture isn't what you think. I know what it looks like, poop. Nope, I was so excited to get down to the ocean that I started to climb down a ledge. It had been raining like 5 minutes earlier so schooooop....down I go. Getting the rusty mud out of my clothes is still a challenge.

Awwww, my sweet Maui onion rings that I ate EVERY day. My heart belongs to these little morsels of heaven.

Jeff and I posing in front of the temple. This is the same day that I slid half way down a mountain the size of Everest and the only other pants I had were my swim shorts.

Worst movie ever

So since I'm too depressed to blog about my Hawaii trip (yes it was that fabulous) I decided to blog about the dumbest show I have ever seen. While passing time in Waikiki we went to see this humdinger of two hours of wasted time. I thought to myself "hey the books were terrible but surely the movie can't be that bad." Oh boy was I wrong.

Yes the acting was that horrible.

Yes the stunts were low budget.

Yes I was in a theater full of teenagers that screemed every time Edward or Jacob walked on screen.

Yes Weekend with Bernie is a much better film.

I know that I am going to generate tons of hate mail and I'm okay with that. Bring it on.

I am so depressed to be away from paradise that I have to bag on something.

The Meanest Mom On The Block......

So lets go back for a moment, to the year 2000. I was working in the Recovery Room and there was a closet full of stuffed animals and cuddly blankets for the kids having surgery. One night while a little kid was in having surgery I went to the closet to get a bear or something and found this gem (see below picture). Oh I just Had to have it (besides it would have been quite cruel to give it to a sick kid). So I took it. Abby was almost 2 years old at the time and she was scared of it. Here, lets look closer and you'll see why:

Abby named him Mr. Banks after watching Mary Poppins. She thought he looked like the dad, Mr. Banks

Well, ever since I brought this hum dinger home and Abby has had an aversion to him we have played jokes here and there, sticking him in bed with her when she doesn't know it, or putting him in her backpack at odd intervals. Then, for some reason, we forgot about Mr. Banks.....until the other night when I was cleaning the playroom...

Second part of story......

On Halloween I found out that she is terrified of this book. Its about a dummy that comes to life. Well, I just had to order it and guess what came in the mail today?

Here is what awaits Abby tonight when she gets into bed:
